Our story

Here at BluesBros, it’s fair to say that we’re crazy about blueberries. They taste amazing. They’re incredibly versatile. And they’re so full of goodness, we wanted to share the love with the rest of New Zealand (and the world).

So we set about to do things differently. We partner with like-minded, equally passionate Kiwi brands to create blissfully decadent, beautifully crafted blueberry foods and beverages. The new, the inventive and the “damn, that’s delicious”.

We hope you enjoy every bite, sip or spoonful of our blissfully decadent blueberry products. We reckon they’re unbelievably good and we hope you do too.

Our blueprint for deliciousness

How do we do it?

Well, it’s simple really. Firstly, we dream up clever, creative new ways to use these little orbs of bliss. Then we take a good measure of sun-ripened fresh or freeze-dried blueberries from our Waikato and Southland orchards, and blend them in small batches with the finest artisan ingredients from New Zealand and beyond.

Lastly, we test and test some more to ensure our products live up to our ‘unbelievably good’ ethos in both taste and quality.

Take our blueberry chocolate. Choc-full of chunks of freeze-dried blueberries blended with creamy, dreamy milk chocolate, it’s quite simply blueberry decadence. And there’s more where that came from – including beautifully crafted gins, jams, juices, chutneys and ciders – so watch this space.

Health benefits of Blueberries

Often touted as Nature’s Superfoods – these delicious summer berries are full of goodness.

They contain significant amounts of dietary fibre and Vitamin C. As well as an abundance of good for you antioxidants. This group includes anthocyanins which are compounds that give blueberries their blue color. Blueberries contain a higher range of anthocyanins compared to most other berries.

Reduced risk of chronic disease

The antioxidants in berries may lower your risk of a whole host of illnesses by limiting inflammation and fighting free radicals.

Better brain health

The flavonoids in blueberries can reduce your risk of cognitive decline and dementia by enhancing circulation and protecting brain cells from damage.

A healthier heart

Some studies have linked eating blueberries with decreased blood pressure. Since they’re loaded with polyphenolic compounds that help your blood vessels, blueberries count as a cardioprotective food.
